It all started when I made a t-shirt for myself. I wanted to promote awareness about autism in general, but specifically that our son P.J. wasn't just being a brat. You know those looks and that unsolicited advice you get at the store? I was tired of it. Like all of us are. So I made a t-shirt with the phrasing you see at the top of the page. It was simple yet said a lot about P.J. Once I started wearing it, I got so many people stopping me to ask where I got it. When I said that I made it, the next question was "Do you have a website?". At the time the answer was "no". After a while my husband and I decided to "take the plunge" and start a website. But not just a website to sell things. I wanted it to be more than that. I know that over the years raising an autistic child is, to say the least, challenging. We wanted to share our story with anyone who would listen. When we first got the diagnosis, we had no idea where to turn. We wanted to create a website that could maybe help someone in some way who might be experiencing the same or a similar situation. If you browse through this website, you will see some of the problems and difficulties our family has gone through over the years. You will also see some remedies and triumphs. We hope you find something useful within these pages. If nothing else, that you are not alone in your struggle with raising an autistic child.
